How much food to order for a Gold Coast training day
Training days are long. People need fuel to stay switched on, and nobody wants to be the one who ordered too little (or way too much). Here's how I usually work it out for Gold Coast training days.
Start with the timeline
Most training days have three food moments: morning tea, lunch and an afternoon pick-me-up. You don't have to cater all three, but if people are there from 8:30 to 4:30, they'll be hungry by 10.
Morning tea
Allow about 2 pieces per person. A medium pastry platter works well for a smaller group, and a large pastry platter suits a bigger room. Add a fruit platter for something fresh.
Lunch
This is the main event. As a rough guide:
- 1.5 to 2 sandwiches, wraps or sliders per person
- Mix it up. Half sandwiches and wraps and half brioche sliders keeps everyone happy.
- Add a Queen of the Nosh grazing platter if you want people to pick and chat.
Afternoon
A fruit platter or whatever's left of the grazing platter gets everyone through the last session.
A quick example for 20 people
- Morning: 1 large pastry platter plus 1 medium fruit platter
- Lunch: 2 sandwich and wrap platters (12 each) plus 1 slider platter
- Afternoon: 1 large fruit platter
Don't forget dietaries. Let me know about gluten free, vegetarian or allergies when you order and I'll look after it.
Order at least 24 hours ahead (shorter notice may be possible, just ask), there's no minimum order, and delivery starts from $35 depending on distance from Helensvale. See all my corporate catering options, or call me on 0413 836 936 and I'll help you work out the numbers.
